Vive La Crise!

First of all thanks to all movie makers, bicylce activists, supporters, facilitators and the audience. They all provided the electric atmosphere and a great demonstration of cultural velopower in the Flottmannhallen.

Of course a key aspect of the festival is the film award – the famous “Goldene Kurbel”. After long discussions about the pros and cons of each film (cuz a lot of the contributions are really worth to win the price) the decision was reached:

Interview with DJ Mono

…the man at the turntables.

ICFF: We heard your awesome sounds in mono at the ICFF 2009. Which extra mile do you want to go this year?
DJ Mono: Always the same questions. Always higher, faster, further. I´m sick of this postcapitalistic delusion of growth. Even the ICFF is threatened to become mentally fat. You can almost see fat pads here and there.

ICFF: Well, on the other hand mental diet, organic ice cream and homoeopathy aren’t that inventive, too, are they?
DJ Mono: We have to ask ourselves: Did we sell our ideals too cheap to filthy lucre? The answer is three times yes. Therefore I will set an unmistakably musical sign against this trend on this very special evening. Cosiness has to end – minds have to sweat out mental fat. For this reason I will rock the house until the sandman arrives, because we definitely don´t need another hero!

ICFF: We are looking forward to the therapy.
DJ Mono: Lot of folks will ask: “Is MONOtheism the only beatific way out of this crisis?” But I say: “I don´t know, perhaps it leads us directly into the next. But life in stereo I can barely imagine.”
